I love the late 90s Coldplay... not the current Coldplay. D and I had a conversation about this a couple of weeks ago. Somewhere circa 1998-2000 my musical taste stopped evolving. Don't get me wrong, I still like an artist here or there, but out of my all time favorite albums, at least 2 of them are from the late 90s. "Parachutes" is easily my favorite album EVER. "Rush of Blood to the Head" was excellent, but not as incredible as parachutes. "X&Y" was a big fat disappointment to me. I didn't even bother to buy it on itunes.
My questions are, first, Are any of you Coldplay fans? If so, What do you think of Viva La Vida? I can tell you I'm underwhelmed with the title track that is currently played on the radio. So, should I bother checking it out? What do you all think?
* if you are a Coldplay/Chris Martin fan, you should definitely check out a song called "Your love means everything pt. 2" by Faultline (feat. Chris Martin). Magical

There is this band I loved in 2000 and 2001 called Travis. They were like my FAVORITE. I think you would like them. At least you would like their early stuff from those albums. Anyway, they are similiar to Coldplay. For some reason, I could never get behind Coldplay 100%. I like a lot of their songs but never listened to a complete album. Josh always said they were super boring but then he likes their new stuff now.
What does it all mean? I don't know. I didn't answer your question, but I'm with you... I'm stuck with the stuff I like with the exception of a few new favorites.
BUt look up the band Travis. You'd like them!
I LOVE the new Coldplay. I didn't think I would because it is very different from their past albums. However, I listened to it almost non-stop for two weeks!
